There are some things about Battambang that visitors just love. The colonial architecture, riverside setting, laid-back cafes, relaxing resorts, it’s the perfect blend of relatively urban modernity and small-town friendliness.
Once arrived at this town, we will proceed to Prasat Phnom Banan Winery for wine tasting. We will visit the Wat Banan, a hilltop temple accessible by 350-odd steps and surrounded by picturesque paddy fields. We will continue to the natural cave located down the hill. After a 15 minutes’ walk through banana plantations and forest, we will get the cave of the holy water. The “Kouhea Preah Toeuk” still hosts some Buddha statues brought by locals in this immense natural room. Lunch at Battambang’s most famous Cambodian fusion restaurant for their signature foods. Take on the bamboo train, where the cars are constructed of axles with recycled wheels and a bamboo frame powered by a small motor that can goes up to 40km/ hour. It’s a unique experience to go through the lush forest of Cambodia upon arriving at a village that sells local product with affordable prices. Back to the town and stroll down the scenic local boutiques before heading back to Siem Reap.
