Day 1 - Luang Prabang > Ban Huay Lo > Ban Pha Phuang > Ban Mok Chong
The starting point of the trek is 40 km north of Luang Prabang, in the Khmu-village of Ban Huay Lo off route 13. The trail passes through rice paddies, forest and waterfalls. On the way, we visit the Hmong village of Pha Phuang where we have a local lunch. After lunch, we continue trekking up in the mountain until to reach Khmu and Hmong villages on the top of the mountain. You will learn more about Hmong-culture in the host village for the night, Ban Mok Chong.
Approximately: 1 hour transfer & 6 hours trekking
Option 1: Normal Programme
Day 2 - Ban Mok Chong > Ban Nasavang > Huay Vang > Luang Prabang
Today, we trek further into the rugged and densely forested mountains west of the Nam Ou valley. A trail leads us through remote and beautiful bamboo forest and limestone scenery. Lunch is served in the Khmu village of Ban Nasavang. After the lunch, we continue trekking following a local trail. On the way, we stop at scenic waterfalls, a perfect place to relax. We continue trekking until to reach the village of Ban Hauy where the vehicle is waiting for us

Option 2: For More Difficult Trek
Day 3 - Ban Mok Chong > Ban Nasavang > Ban Mok Muang > Ban Houy Louang > Luang Prabang
We start trekking up in the mountain until we reach a panoramic view of the region after 40 minutes of trekking. Then, we continue on into the real deep jungle. After 3 hours trekking, we reach a Hmong village where we have a local lunch. After lunch, we continue for one more hour of trekking in the deep jungle before we reach the rice paddies from where we have a beautiful view of the river. After, 2 more hours of trekking, we reach the Khmu village of Ban Houy Louang (In the dry season, we can swim there before going back).
Approximately: 6 hours trekking & 1 hour transfer

• We recommend using a pair of sneaker to wander around as there will be climbing stairs and covering yourself from dirt.
