Tonle Sap Lake is the largest freshwater lake in South East Asia. Kampong Phluk is a cluster of three villages of stilted houses built within the floodplain of Tonle Sap about 16 km southeast of Siem Reap. Kompong Phluk is accessible by boat only and we will cruise the lake with Cambodia traditional boat. Kompong Phluk is a relatively small village that provides very good insight into the village lifestyle of the Tonle Sap. This village exists almost exclusively on fishing and related activities. Houses are built on stilts up to 10 m high, and the village is surrounded by flooded forest. As opposed to the Chong Kneas floating village, it’s a different experience. Upon entering the Tonle Sap Lake basin, we will stopover at the flooded forest. Change to a local long tail boat where the local will help you on paddle, sit back, relax and make sure to get a lot of cool shots in this venue.
At 4pm, we will head to the quadbike center where you will be briefed with the safety and operation instructions for the vehicle. Ride through the rural areas (do not race and enjoy the views). Stopover and wait for the sunset over the rice paddy fields. Back to hotel.
